How Long does Short Term Cover for?

Is this an alternative to the ACA?

For some, short terms are used in place of Individual plans that comply with the ACA. However, they are not considered full coverage and this should be taken into account.

What about Pre-existing conditions?

Pre-existing conditions are not covered on Short Term plans, and when asked about them you will not qualify for a short term if you had a pre-existing condition.

IHC offers a variety of options ranging from Short Term health plans, Indemnity Plans, and even a "fusion" plan that includes both. IHC has plans with a 12 month waiting period on Pre existing conditions as well.

Formerly Known as Golden Rule, United Health One is United Healthcare's short term policy. It offers several levels of benefits to fit ones needs, much like National General and IHC.

National General* uses the Aetna PPO physician network and offers a Short Term medical plan that allows the insured coverage up to 12 months of protection for new onset of injuries or illnesses. Pre-existing conditions are not covered along with other exclusions.
